Yet again a news post with a few days of delay from the accomplishment, but we've been busy with other stuff! :)

After a very good rush on the Hard Modes, our next focus was Thorim, the thunder-poop. We already practiced him before, but decided to focus on the Assembly of Iron first, so, we only needed to tweak positions a bit, and remind every one on the process. The first try was pretty good, but we had an healer missing the FrR gear, so, we fixed that promptly the next try... which was, well, the kill!

The kill was completely smooth, with all the raid alive and kicking through most of the fight, with people mentioning that it had been nerfed, and changed, etc since we were last there (which well, according to patch notes, community sites, etc - wasn't)... so, till 20% everything was great, and after Thorim was stacking the dmg buff, one tank eventually died... and all hell broke loose! We CR'd him, buffed him, so he held the boat a bit more while the MT died aswell, so, it was frantic all the way through! With dpsers burning the last 5-6% while he ran around like a maniac finishing people off... it was quite funny because we only had like one dps (a hunter) taking the last hundred k hp down, with 1-2 healers running around, and when the hunter is targetted and about to die, with 1% left, the final sprint, Orangeyes - king of sabotage and master of fuckups! - decided to ankh and save the kill, shocking and bolting the crap out of Thorim while a angelic aka dead Ending spammed some heals to avoid him dying from the frostbolts/blizzard/wtv, granting us the kill, as the last man standing! He redeemed himself from all his poopiness! Well, from some of it, cos it really stacks up :P

Congratz everyone! 5 HM down, 4 to go. Next up is Freya, which already proved to be a challenge! :)

On a side note, also concerning guild progress, this time on 10man, after the Firefighter nerf, we finally took Mimiron down on Hard Mode, getting the sigil and accessing Algalon for the first time!

The fight is original as hell, altough we took notice that it really is simple and easy to learn, but intensive and hell to go through, specially on the damage the tanks keep taking from the celestial ravager, Algalon! Fight learned, more news on this soon! :)

Well... seems like he didn't mind fighting us for a little while, for a laugh :P Mīnd! Equip your tanking gear next time! :P See ya next week!

Howdy-ho!

Yea, we have some news to share with you all, but i couldn't be arsed with posting this earlier, but since it is kind of important, i really have to!

On a nutshell, we broke Flame Leviathan's Heart! Oh, wait? We got the Rare Cache from XT:002? Hmm, now im confused! Best to start from the start i'd say? Oh well...

We started this week timer a bit later then usual, because Blizzard decided to give some of us a "time out" for a "not so clever use of game mechanics", so our usual raids on Wednesday and Thursday turned into 10man Ulduar raids so most of the guild could face the Hard Modes we were going to focus on the 25man content - with great success tbh! So our "real 25man timer" started Sunday, rather late then usual, and we had two clear targets for the night : Flame Leviathan and XT:002 on Hard Mode.

Flame Leviathan is a joke with all the towers now, no slow effect from the frost tower, one-shot break of the ice, and a brutal decrease of hp from the boss, which ended up in a kill after 4 tries (and well, the wipes before were because people really need to learn how to drive some vehicles!), but eventually our Demolishers ravaged the crap out of him, and we got Orbit-uary!

Things were smoother then we would expect, so XT:002 wouldn't be much of a challenge i was thinking. Most of us already killed him on 10man, so we had a vast knowledge of the event mechanics, but we decided to tweak the strat a bit, around positionings and movements, and we hit the jackpot. Everything was smooth, and we would've got a 1st kill faster then on the 4th try if a mage didn't blink to the melee camp, with a light bomb, DURING an earthquake-thingie, which was imba! :) So, we broke XT:002 down after severing his heart from his body!

Mīnd - DK Tank

Well! Our goals for the evening were accomplished... with half the raid time to spare, so we cleared the path for the rest of the events, already thinking about Hodir, and on the raid signups for the next raid considering the lack of ranged dps we were facing!

After clearing the rest of the keepers and stuff around, we decided to focus on Hodir, on Monday, but unfortunetly we were having issues on dps, mostly caused by the abundance of Storm Clouds casted on the melee camp, which is "unlucky" for the event, since casters can obliterate the crap out of Hodir while under the buff effect of the Storm thingie... so we left frustrated after 2h of tries, thinking we would manage it as fast as the previous two hard modes! So, with one night left on the timer, and with the general and frog-saron to go, we decided to dedicate 1h or so for Hodir on the last raid of the timer... and with some heavy profile absences, we weren't feeling that confidence! But hey, with some new members, and the presence of high profile "casual" players, things looked up on the first attempts, where we managed to get him down to 8-10% with yet again - abundant melee clouds... so, at the end of our alloted hour for Hodir, we decided to give it one more shot, a Gung Ho type of attempt, do or die! And well, we were rewarded with clouds on the right people, and got Hodir down without much hassle, with 5 secs left on the timer (so much heh? :P), and with Kawaii (yea... the mage from the Jihad Blink from before!) reaching the massive amount of 22k dps... and OF COURSE aggroing and dying at the end of the fight! But hey, we got the CACHE OF POOP LOOT!

So, 4 Hard Modes down, 5 to go (if im not mistaken!), and a boost of confidence like we hadn't got in a while! Here we go Thorim! Beware!

I'd also like to take the opportunity to say farewell to Phobia, a well respected member from Corruption, which acted as an officer during the majority of WotLK, and decided to give the game a break after years of activity. You'll be missed! Um grande abraįo!

Assembly of Iron HARD MODE!
Written by Hugor

POW POW POW i'd say!

It's been a while since our last progress related news post, because Corruption faced yet again what is becoming a tradition in our long history. The task of rebuilding and reshaping the guild after the loss of interest of important players, and the 'get back on our feet' time a leadership change implies. I would also like to add that Corruption is very glad to have too long lasting members Fxënon and Mīnd (on a return!) join the officer team! Welcome aboard the stressfull train! :)

As for the progress, we had some issues to rebuild the raiding core of Corruption after our Yogg-Saron 1st kill, with some issues taking a bit to resolve, and - fortunetly - the Hard Mode contents really are a challenge comparing to all the content available otherwise on the WotLK, and we had some issues on the normal content -> hard mode transition.

But as they say, hard work and commitment always bring results, and after a few nights learning and tweaking our 'strat' for the Assembly of Iron mode (and hoping no one would have issues and miss the raids :P), we took the big ass Steelbreaker down as the last man in the Assembly of Iron.

[/url]

The main issue we faced, besides the break of attendance of some key members and having to gear up new raiders, was the fact that for once an event required that we had to give more importance to raid setup and classes then to the players themselves, making us rethink our "bring the player, not the class" motto.

I haven't felt so good and accomplished by a 1st kill (well, kinda, since it was the 1st kill on Hard Mode, but hey, who cares about the denomination!) with any other boss or event on the WotLK, and i think that i speak by most of the Corruption when i say we are completely ecstatic, and eager for the rest of them!

XT and Hodir, you won't wait long for your turn! :)

Well done everyone, well done.

Insane in the Membrane!

w00t!

It's been a while since i had the pleasure of posting a news around here! And yea, i've been lost in the african jungles for i while, but hey! I'm back now!

Anyways, it's been around a week, but i couldn't help posting the fact that our very own Ulvah took the time and patience to accomplish the fucking impossible! And after weeks of Lockbox stealing, Libram snatching, Deck manufacturing, Steamwhedle ravaging he turned himself into our very first Insane, accomplishing the Insane in the Membrane Feat of Strength, and he should be congratulated for it!

Corruption hails their first Insane! Gratz Ulvah!

What's next? :)

What's up homies. It's been awhile so I guess it's time to update this a little bit.

You may have noticed our website underwent some serious changes, the overall layout was changed, i think it's looking quite sharp! The logo is probably the most notorious change, and it's great. Many kudos to Mind (yup, our very own DK tank/supreme ruler of DPS) for making such a pleasent website to look at!

So what's new raiding wise?

We're aiming at hard modes now that we've cleared the instance as i stated before and well, it's going pretty allright I'd say. We decided not to focus just on one boss and risk heavy burn outs but grasp the 'gist' on most hard modes possible at this point. So far, we've been pretty close at Flame Leviathan with 3 towers up, destroyed XT's heart and played around with him a bit and we're meddling with Thorim and Sif. Last but not least, we're also giving Freya and 2 adds a hard time. Guess we'll save Hodir and Mimiron for last.. :)

Not too shabby, it's looking good. Summer is just around the corner though, and we all know what that means... there's not much time left!

Finally, Merujo from the uprising Portuguese Warcraft portal has asked us if we'd be willing to take part in a brief interview, which we of course, accepted. The interview if mostly focused on the guild progress as a whole in Ulduar, though there's more in between! If you're interested, take a look!

That's all for now folks, hugs and kisses!
